Our region has far too many fishing opportunities for the travelling angler to sample in one day. By joining River Escapes for a multi-day trip, you can be rest assured that we will have you fishing a range of locations, with each offering a different experience.

TROUT FISHING TOURS

North East Victoria has no shortage of excellent trout water and our extended stays are for the angler who wants to fish multiple locations over the course of their trip. These trips range from 2 - 4 days of fishing and our itineraries are flexible to allow for seasonal variability and ultmately the clients' wishes. We can easily combine any of our trout fishing options. One day can be spent drifting the Mitta Mitta from the raft, the next using a 4WD vehicle to access a remote crystal clear river followed by fishing the evening rise on a lower altitude favourite. Accommodation is available at River Escapes Base Camp each night.

2 DAY OPTIONS

Price and inclusions: 3 nights accommodation and meals (excludes meal first night at a local hotel), option for an additional night of accommodation if required, all equipment if required;
1. Two days of stream fishing, 1 person $850, 2 people $690 per person.

2. One day stream fishing, one day on the raft, 1 person $900, 2 people $730 per person.

3. Two days from the raft, 1 person $950, 2 people $750 per person.

3 DAY OPTIONS

Price and inclusions: 4 nights accommodation and meals (excludes meal first night at a local hotel), option for an additional night of accommodation if required, all equipment if required;
1. Three days of stream fishing, 1 person $1270, 2 people $1025 per person.

2. Two days of stream fishing, one day of raft fishing, 1 person $1300, 2 people $1050 per person.

3. One day of stream fishing, one day of raft fishing, one day on an alpine lake, 1 person $1350, 2 people $1100 per person.

4 DAY OPTIONS

Price and inclusions: 5 nights accommodation and meals (excludes meal first night at a local hotel), option for an additional night of accommodation if required, all equipment if required;
1. Four days of stream fishing, 1 person $1650, 2 people $1375 per person.

2. Three days of stream fishing, one day of raft fishing, 1 person $1700, 2 people $1400 per person.

3. Two days of stream fishing, two days of raft fishing (either river or Alpine lake), 1 person $1780, 2 people $1450 per person.

TWO DAYS RAFT FISHING THE MITTA MITTA RIVER AND SWAMPY PLAIN

These two great rivers are within close proximity to each other so we can fish both over 2 days. Typically we can meet at River Escapes Base Camp on the first night, from there we will spend the next day drifting the Mitta. After travelling to Khancoban the following night, we spend the last day drifting the Swampy. This trip is flexible so we can also include walk and wade fishing on other waters in the Khancoban area on subsequent days.

Cost : 1 person $1050, 2 people $1300 (cost of accomodation in Khancoban not included). Location : Lower Mitta Mitta River and Swampy Plain River. Season : October-June. What's included : Gear hire, drinks and all meals. Ability : Intermediate - Advanced.

TOM GROGGIN STATION HIGH COUNTRY FLY FISHING TOUR

Tom Grogging Station is an amazing working cattle property of 2000 acres, steeped in history and offering some fantastic private access to idyllic stream fishing. We are in a privileged position to offer guided fly fishing trips here on the fantastic waters of the Upper Murray River and a private stream that runs through the property.

The property is bordered by both the Kosciusko National Park and Alpine National Park, that both contain numerous fly fishing opportunities. We utilise modern, self-contained accommodation on the property, with our trips here including all meals and any extra gear you may require.

Trips can be arranged at any time from October - June, with peak season from November - April, subject to availability. With the properties' proximity to Khancoban, we can offer a package with an additional day drifting the Swampy Plain River.

MURRAY COD AND NATIVES FISHING TOURS

Our Murray cod fishery is diverse and every waterway offers something different. Spending 2 or more days cod fishing can be a fishing trip to remember.

LAKE MULWALA AND SMALL RIVER FISHING A multi-day Murray cod fishing excursion is a great way to sample both Lake Mulwala and/or the smaller rivers of the region. The shear amount of fish holding structure at Lake Mulwala deserves more than one day to explore. Our location is the ideal base to target both trout and Murray cod. We can combine our trips for both these fish into a 2 or more day stay.

ACCOMMODATION - RIVER ESCAPES BASE CAMP

Do you need a place to stay while spending time in the North East? We offer accommodation exclusively to those who book a fishing tour to enable you to wake up, enjoy breakfast and head off for a day of fishing.

‘Base camp’ is a country-style lodge nestled on 15 acres with room for up to 4 guests, twin share. A main shared kitchen, dining facilities and a BBQ is available. Linen is provided. We chose our central location carefully; it is a short drive to excellent trout and Murray cod streams and within an hour to larger trout rivers, alpine lakes and Lake Mulwala.

For those wishing to visit popular tourist destinations during their stay, Base Camp is a short drive to the historic town of Beechworth, the King Valley Gourmet Region, Rutherglen Winery Region, Bright and Mount Beauty. Cost: $55 p.p. per night, $50 p.p. per night for two or more nights. For all other accommodation options in the North East, we recommend Bright Escapes.
